A few deals have been signed recently for various audiobook and international editions of Robert McCammon’s work:

  • As we mentioned last week, Audible will be releasing an unabridged audiobook of The River of Souls on May 31, 2014. The book will be narrated by Edoardo Ballerini, who narrated the other Matthew Corbett books for Audible. The River of Souls will be published in limited, trade hardcover, and ebook editions on May 31, too.
  • GraphicAudio will be releasing their audio adaptation of I Travel by Night in late summer 2014. GraphicAudio productions have a narrator, a full cast, music, and sound effects.
  • As we mentioned in February, Audible will be releasing unabridged audiobooks of The Wolf’s Hour and The Hunter from the Woods later this year.
  • German publisher Festa will be publishing a two-volume German translation of Swan Song in early 2015. This edition will be unabridged. The previous German release in the early ’90s was abridged.
  • Festa will also be publishing a two-volume German translation of The Wolf’s Hour in late 2015 or early 2016. This will be the first German translation of the book.
  • It appears that Russian publisher AST will be publishing Russian translations of The Providence Rider in April June October and The Five in July 2015.

From Deadline.com: Universal, Chris Morgan Howl For ‘The Wolf’s Hour’

Movies & TV, The Wolf's Hour  Comments Off on From Deadline.com: Universal, Chris Morgan Howl For ‘The Wolf’s Hour’
Jan 102014

Several years ago, twins Bradley and Kevin Marcus optioned the film rights to The Wolf’s Hour. They’ve spent the years writing a script and pitching it to many people in Hollywood. Finally, Hollywood news site Deadline.com has just posted this exciting news!

Universal, Chris Morgan Howl For ‘The Wolf’s Hour’

Mike Fleming

olfEXCLUSIVE: Universal Pictures has acquired the Robert McCammon novel The Wolf’s Hour for Chris Morgan and Emile Gladstone to produce through their Universal-based Chris Morgan Productions banner. While Universal has done several werewolf films since launching the classic from its original movie monster library, this is a different take on the legend and it comes with a screenplay. The novel focuses around a man who is recruited by the Allies in WWII specifically for his ability to go werewolf. He’s charged with stopping a Nazi plot to drop poison gas on England, and at the same time he searches for his long lost blood brother.

Brad_and_Kevin_PRThe script was written by Bradley and Kevin Marcus. The Marcus brothers optioned the 1989 novel themselves, and took the time to flesh out a script that sparked Morgan and Gladstone after CMP exec Ainsley Davies brought it in. Morgan is working on the revamped Fast & Furious 7 film which goes back in production for Universal. CMP is repped by ICM Partners, and the scribes are repped by Resolution and Zero Gravity Management. Production veep Anikah McLaren will oversee for Universal.

As with all things Hollywood, time will tell if the film gets made, but this is the farthest any movie based on a McCammon novel has gotten at a major studio! Congratulations to Brad and Kevin for their diligence over the years!
