2003 Southeastern Science Fiction Achievement Award (the SESFA)

- Lifetime Achievement - L. Sprague de Camp (1907-2000)
- Best Novel of 2002 - Speaks the Nightbird by Robert R. McCammon (River
City Publishing)
- Best Short Fiction of 2002 - "The Big Rock Candy Mountain" by Andy Duncan
(Conjunctions 39: The New Wave Fabulists, Bard College)
The SESFA Award is designed to honor accomplishment in science fiction,
fantasy or horror by individuals born or living in the Southern United
States.
Winners will receive a framed certificate featuring artwork by Dan Henderson
(http://www.mindspring.com/~hendall).

The SESFA Award (http://www.sesfa.com) is designed to honor

living in the Southern United States. For 2003, three Awards were
presented: Lifetime Achievement, Best Novel of 2002, and Best Short Fiction
of 2002. The SESFA, a fan-based award selected by participants who pay a
small membership fee, is administered under the auspices of the online
science fiction magazine scifidimensions.
