From Subterranean Press:
We couldn’t be happier to announce Robert McCammon’s I Travel by Night, his return to full on horror after more than a decade away. The tale itself is done, and has been fully designed and proofread for some months. The legendary Michael Whelan has agreed to provide an original dust jacket illustration, which we’ll share as soon as we possibly can. Look for I Travel by Night to be published in Spring 2013.

I Travel by Night marks Robert McCammon’s triumphant return to the sort of flamboyant, go-for-broke horror fiction that has earned him an international reputation and a legion of devoted fans. The terrors of the Dark Society, the gothic sensibilities of old New Orleans, and the tortured existence of the unforgettable vampire adventurer Trevor Lawson all combine into a heady brew that will thrill McCammon’s loyal readers and earn him new ones as well.
For Lawson, the horrors that stalked the Civil War battlefield at Shiloh were more than just those of war. After being forcibly given the gift of undeath by the mysterious vampire queen LaRouge, Lawson chose to cling to what remained of his humanity and fought his way free of the Dark Society’s clutches. In the decades since, he has roamed late nineteenth century America, doing what good he can as he travels by night, combating evils mundane and supernatural, and always seeking the key to regaining a mortal life.
That key lies with his maker, and now Lawson hopes to find LaRouge at the heart of a Louisiana swamp with the aid of a haunted priest and an unexpected ally. In the tornado-wracked ghost town of Nocturne, Lawson must face down monstrous enemies, the rising sun, and his own nature. Readers will not want to miss this thrilling new dark novella from a master storyteller.

Sounds awesome and I can’t wait to read it! But you’re forgetting about the kindle fans again. I’m not sure I remember how to turn paper pages anymore.
I expect that it will be available as an ebook around the same time the limited edition is published.

What about us audiobook people … we love his work too and we also have forgotten how to turn pages !!!
Talk to the fine folks at Audible and et them know you’d like to see an audiobook edition of this or any other McCammon novels!
Hunter
You bet I will !!! and I don’t think I’ll talk more like Yell, Scream and stamp my feet … hee hee 🙂
I’ve look all over for audio versions of …
Baal
Bethany’s Sin
The Night Boat
They Thirst
Judgment of the Witch
Evil Unveiled
Can’t find them anyplace and I sooooooooo want to listen to them. The man is just the most fantastic writer I have ever listen to. He’s beyond gifted. I believe he’s been touch by the powers that be and each book I listen to I swear it’s his best until I listen to the next one.
The last two you mentioned are the two parts of Speaks the Nightbird. It is available as an audiobook from Audible already:
Robert McCammon audiobooks @ Audible
There haven’t been audiobooks of the first four novels, but let Audible know!
And for what it’s worth, I agree completely with assessment of McCammon’s talents! 😎

Hunter … I went to Audible like you suggested and I’m a bit confused. Are you saying that Judgment of the Witch and Evil Unveiled are really the 1st Matthew Corbett book … Speaks the Nightbird ??? Well if that’s true then I’ve lucked out. For I have listened to the whole Matthew Corbett series … God little Matthew Corbet is such a sweetie. You just can’t help holding him dearly in your heart and having faith in him and rooting and pulling for him with every fiber of your being.
But I do have a question … I noticed on the Audible page that their is a listing for Stalkers an anthology. Something I didn’t know about. Could you fill me in on this one for I will defiantly have to buy it.
Yes, when Pocket published Speaks the Nightbird, they split it into the two books, Judgment of the Witch and Evil Unveiled. All that did was confuse lots and lots of people. So yes, if you’ve listened to Nightbird, then you’ve heard them.
Stalkers is a short-story anthology consisting of about 20 stories written by different authors. One of the stories is Robert McCammon’s “Lizardman.” It’s a good anthology, so I’m sure you’d enjoy it, but know that only one of the stories is by McCammon.
Hunter
Thank You Hunter for the info. As for Stalkers if it has a Robert McCammon story in it. Then I have to have it !!! One story is better then nothing … hee hee 🙂 So off to Audible to buy it and stamp my feet and yell some more. If those people don’t put those 4 books out in audio formate
Baal
Bethany’s Sin
The Night Boat
They Thirst
I swear I’ll tell them that I’ll NEVER buy another audiobook from them again. Plus I’ll tell all my audiobook friends never to buy from them again either (I already have all of them Emailing and calling them. Stomping their feet and yelling about Mr. McCammon’s books) Oh the power of a Blonde One is a sight to behold !!! LOL !!!
Thank You for your kindness to me and the information. It’s been a pleasure talking with you. Do take care and stay safe and have a wonderful holiday.
