Polish publisher Vesper has revealed the cover for their upcoming translation of The Listener, to be published sometime in Fall 2022! The art is by Maciej Kamuda. Vesper published a translation of Speaks the Nightbird earlier this year, and they are publishing a new edition of Boy’s Life on July 13, 2022.

Robert McCammon asked me to post this video of author Pete Mesling performing his original composition “Remembering Fount Royal.” Pete wrote:

This is a piece I wrote recently. It’s inspired by the setting of Robert McCammon’s first Matthew Corbett novel, SPEAKS THE NIGHTBIRD. I call it “Remembering Fount Royal.” It’s by no means a definitive recording, but I hope you dig it.

Robert McCammon’s classic post-apocalyptic novel Swan Song is currently available in print only as a mass-market paperback. That will change on April 4, 2023, when Simon & Schuster will re-release Swan Song in a trade paperback format via their Saga Press imprint. Though it’s still far away, pre-order links for the book have already shown up on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

As we previously announced, Lividian Publications will release the trade hardcover edition of The King of Shadows in December 2022, after trade paperback releases of the five Matthew Corbett books between Mister Slaughter and Cardinal Black from July through November.

However, the limited edition of the book—which has long been sold out—will begin shipping from Lividian around the end of June 2022.

The trade hardcover edition can be pre-ordered from Lividian Publications. Amazon, B&N, and other pre-order links will be available in the coming months.

I can also now announce that Open Road Media and Audible will release the ebook and audiobook editions of The King of Shadows on Tuesday, June 28, 2022! The audiobook will once again be narrated by Edoardo Ballerini.

On April 1, 2022, Polish publisher Vesper revealed their planned cover art for their translation of Boy’s Life. The artwork was very different from covers normally associated with Boy’s Life, depicting a hand reaching for a green feather against a dark blue sky with clouds and a moon.

The response from Polish readers on Facebook was not positive. Many readers complained about the cover and said that the cover for the previous Polish release was much better.

Vesper listened, and on April 29, they posted this:

The readers responded overwhelmingly in favor of the new cover art, and Vesper announced that the book would feature the new cover art when it is published in July 2022.

The cover has been added to the Book Cover Gallery.

German publisher Luzifer Verlag has acquired the German translation rights to Freedom of the Mask, book six in the Matthew Corbett series. Luzifer has been on a roll for the past few years, publishing German editions of the first five Matthew Corbett books, plus Boy’s Life and The Border. Presumably, their edition of Freedom of the Mask will be published in 2023. More info when I have it!

The Hollywood Reporter has posted an exclusive (until every other site steals it and reposts it) report that James Wan is adapting Robert McCammon’s Stinger for the Peacock streaming service. From the report: “‘Teacup’ will be based on the book by Robert McCammon with ‘Yellowstone’s’ Ian McCulloch set to pen the script.”
