Here’s a promo video for Vesper’s Polish translation of Stinger that was posted by mroczne_strony!
Ukrainian publisher Zhorzh has announced a May 2025 release date for their first Robert McCammon translation! Several years ago, they acquired the rights to Boy’s Life, Speaks the Nightbird, The Queen of Bedlam, and Swan Song. Special thanks to reader Antoniuk Igor for keeping me informed about this release!
Here are their posts about the release, which includes ordering information:
At the Leviathan book launch, Robert McCammon told me that, now that the series was complete, he would love to see other people write Matthew Corbett fan fiction.
Author Pete Mesling has done just that, and we’re proud to present “Troubling the Past,” his story set in Matthew Corbett’s world!
Pete also narrates the story in a YouTube video on his channel. From Pete:
“Troubling the Past” is my foray into fan fiction. Set in the world of Robert McCammon’s Matthew Corbett books, my story occurs before the events of The King of Shadows and aims to do a little after-the-fact foreshadowing of that novel. I wouldn’t say it contains any spoilers per se, but you may find “Troubling the Past” more enjoyable if you’ve read McCammon’s novel first (all of the Corbett novels, actually).
You have several options available:
- Read the story on RobertMcCammon.com
- Download an AZW3 ebook
- Download an EPUB ebook
- Download a MOBI ebook
We’d love to see more! From Robert McCammon: “The fun and interesting thing here is that you can do straight mystery stories, character studies, or delve into the supernatural as much as you please.” Submissions can be sent to the webmaster.

News from Variety about the upcoming TV adaptation of Swan Song!
The series adaptation of the Robert McCammon novel “Swan Song” has found its writer, Variety has learned exclusively.
Russell Rothberg has boarded the project, which was first announced in January, to serve as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. The show is now being taken out to market.
Polish publisher Vesper has revealed the cover for Godzina Wilka, their upcoming translation of The Wolf’s Hour, to be published in April 2025! The art is by Maciej Kamuda, and the translation is by Janusz Skowron.
The book has not been added to the Vesper website yet, but details can be found here. Or it’s been removed from the Vesper site because they’ve changed the release date. I’m not sure which. I’ve not seen a formal announcement from Vesper.
While Teacup—the Peacock series very loosely-based on Robert McCammon’s Stinger—has already been cancelled after just one season, one aspect of the show that was done well is the special effects work by KNB EFX. Given that the ‘N’ in KNB EFX is Greg Nicotero, who is co-producing the upcoming Swan Song series, it’s a safe bet that KNB EFX will also be doing the effects for that show.
On December 30, 2024, the website Animation World Network published an article about the effects in Teacup, complete with a bunch of photos showing the concepts and how the effects were done.

Also, as Hollywood is wont to do these days, just six days after the first two episodes of Teacup were released, Peacock released this spoiler-filled video about the special effects for the show.
