Subterranean Press has posted a new McCammon update:

As another step in celebrating the release of Robert McCammon’s newest Matthew Corbett historical thriller, The Providence Rider (SubPress|Amazon|BN.com), we’ve put the ebook of his demon spawn first novel, Baal, on sale for only $2.99. You can pick it up from the usual suspects (Amazon|BN.com). It looks as though Kobo is trailing behind in resetting the price, but I’m sure they’ll catch up soon.

Jumping back to The Providence Rider again, it’s now racked up 15 five star Amazon reviews, with no dissenters. We’re inordinately pleased at the response it’s received from reviewers and readers alike. This (literal, though eventually resolved) cliffhanger of a novel is the perfect place to join Matthew’s deadly game of chess with Professor Fell, the self-styled “Emperor of Crime”.

Finally, while he was in our offices inscribing copies of his new novel, Rick also set his hand to the signature pages for our upcoming signed, limited edition of his classic novel, Bethany’s Sin, which is right on schedule for release this fall.

Robert McCammon’s Virtual Blog Tour to support The Providence Rider continues at Horror World today.  They’ve posted a new interview with Robert McCammon conducted by Blu Gilliand.

Hot on the heels of the news that GraphicAudio will be releasing dramatizations of the Michael Gallatin books, Brilliance Audio will be releasing the Audible production of Swan Song, read by Tom Stechschulte, on Audio CD and MP3 CD on December 11, 2012. Both products are currently listed on both the Amazon and Barnes & Noble websites.  You can pre-order them via the links below. The success of the Audible edition of Swan Song is what led to the decision to release the book on CD.

And finally, here are a few more recent reviews:

Subterranean Press has announced the trade hardcover edition of The Hunter from the Woods, which will be available in Fall 2012. You can pre-order the trade hardcover edition from Subterranean here.

Subterranean Press has also published the final part of their 3-part interview with Robert McCammon by Gwenda Bond. She and Robert talk about Matthew, his favorite research finds, the challenges of writing historical fiction, and the exclusive new Matthew Corbett novella that will be included with the limited edition. Robert also shares a tip about something to look for the books that fans of the series won’t want to miss.  You can read part all three parts of the interview on the Subterranean site: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.

Finally, a few reviews have popped up around the ‘net in recent days:

Finally, Lou Pendergrast has created a Robert McCammon group on GoodReads. The goal is to read one Robert McCammon novel each month and discuss it.

A Robert McCammon Signing on the Horizon

Robert McCammon is Coming!

As we did with The Five, we’ve decided to fly Rick McCammon to the SubPress offices to sign The Providence Rider for customers. He’s become such a part of the SubPress family that it made sense to bring him in again. We also have a very limited stock of Baal left, which he’ll be happy to personalize as well.

Now’s also a good time to let you know that we put our heads together with Rick and his agent and worked out the frameworks so we’ll publish the fifth Matthew Corbett novel down the road.

To limit the effect on Rick’s hands and wrists, we’ve set a few guidelines for what he’ll be signing and inscribing:

Personal Inscriptions:

  • Deluxe Trade Hardcover of The Providence Rider, with illustrated endsheets;
  • Signed, Limited Edition of The Providence Rider;
  • Signed, Lettered Edition of The Providence Rider;
  • Signed, Limited Edition of Baal;
  • Signed, Deluxe Limited Edition of Baal.

Signed Only, Not Inscribed

  • Regular Trade Hardcover.

Important Note: If you already have a book eligible to be inscribed by Rick, please drop us an email at [email protected] with your name, address, and how you would like the book inscribed. Those who have the regular trade edition on order will automatically receive signed copies. Please note that Rick will not be signing copies for large online retailers or our wholesale accounts.

The Providence Rider

We’ve just approved the rough sketches for the five black-and-white interior illustrations that will appear in all editions of the book. In addition, we’ve given Vincent Chong the okay for the two color plates exclusive to the limited and lettered editions, and the full-color endsheets (about which, see more below). The bonus novella—the first time Matthew encounters the supernatural—has been dropped into the limited edition and is being proofed. The Providence Rider is likely to be our most attractive McCammon production yet, and one hell of a thrill ride of a novel. We expect it to land on many fans’ lists of favorites of 2012, so don’t miss out.

We’ve decided to add the full-color endsheets to the signed trade copies (but not the unsigned trade edition), to make them an even better value to collectors. There are only 1000 of these, unlike the nearly 2000 copies that Robert McCammon signed for The Five, so please get your order in soon.

Two McCammon limiteds that aren’t on our immediate schedule, Bethany’s Sin and Stinger, have already been fully designed, and are working their way through the production process. 2012 is really going to be the year of McCammon here at SubPress.

Feel free to head over to our site to order all but the ebooks, where Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal are accepted.

Baal by Robert McCammon Limited Edition Cover.jpg

Posted on Subterranean’s website:

The Signed, Limited Edition of Robert McCammon’s Baal is in stock and shipping. Long the Holy Grail because of its elusiveness and high price, first editions of this classic McCammon hardcover have sold for $600+ on the collector’s market through the years. We’re pleased to bring it out of the darkness, at a fraction of that price.

Our edition features a full-color dust jacket and interior illustrations by Tomislav Tikulin, is smythe sewn, with a full cloth binding. It’s also limited to only 1000 numbered copies, each signed by the author. Please get your order in soon. We already have more orders from our wholesale and large online retail accounts than we’ll be able to fill, but are taking care of our direct customers first.

We’re already at work on Bethany’s Sin, the next in our series of McCammon’s classic titles, and will be able to match numbers with Baal for those who request it.

Limited: 1000 signed numbered hardcover copies: $75

From Subterranean Press:

We have a few great bits of Robert McCammon news to share with you today.

  • We’ve just reached agreement to publish his next Matthew Corbett novel, The Providence Rider. As the novel opens, Matthew is a problem-solver having difficulty negotiating the consequences of his encounter with Mister Slaughter. Readers are going to be thrilled at the Dickensian cast of grotesques and characters in The Providence Rider, from stout friend Hudson Greathouse, to the ever in shadows Professor Fell, to new characters such as Mother Deare, Madame Chillany, the Thacker Brothers, and the turbaned, deadly, Sirki. Perhaps best of all, the signed limited and lettered editions will feature a story from Matthew Corbett’s world available nowhere else. Sign up for our newsletter for more details, due soon.
  • After a bit of delay, the signed limited edition of The Five is in stock and shipping, with the lettered edition due soon. Thanks to everyone for their patience, while we sorted out some difficulties with the slipcases. The limited edition may be sold out, but you can still pick up a signed copy of the first trade hardcover.
  • We’re in the homestretch on The Hunter from the Woods, McCammon’s new collection of linked stories and novellas that features Michael Gallatin, the lycanthropic hero of his classic novel, The Wolf’s Hour. Be sure to check out the long novella from the collection, “The Room at the Bottom of the Stairs”, available on Hunter’s page.
  • All of the work is done on the classic novel, Baal, virtually unobtainable in hardcover at a reasonable price, until now. Our edition of Rick’s first novel is just waiting its place in our production queue.
